Profilfer was estabilished in 1975. The foundry was specialized in the production of highly alloyed steel casting.

The facilities was complitely changed in 1988 by installing new furnaces, shell moulding plants and semi-automatic twin-spindle centrifugal machines.

In 1989 it took place the production of special cast iron castings, gravitational and centrifugal, to supply leading manufactures of four-stroke petrol/diesel engines, used in marine - automotive - agrigultural fields.
In the same year, the company was renamed Fonderia di Lonato S.r.l.

The production of spheroidal, austenitic, high cromium alloyed centrifugated cast iron tubes started in 1992.

The Fonderia di Lonato facilities are located on a 12.000 mq. area and approximately one third of the area is covered.
The installed power station reaches 1.300 KW (1000 KW is used in melting).

Great attention is paid to the quality of the product thanks to highly qualified staff and a metallurgy-metallografy laboratory is equipped with the most sophisticated testing instruments.
